A Victorian "In Memory Of" mourning ring, dated 1884. The piece has its characteristic black enamel intact with just a few imperfections. The naturalistic engraving is crisp and the dedication to the inside of the band reads “W. W. G. July 21st 1866 age 19”. A special and highly collectible piece

Ring size - 7.5 / 56 / O (leading edge). Band thickness, 5mm. Band depth 0.9mm.
Marks -
Full British hallmark for 1884 London, Victoria’s head mark, London assay mark, crown mark, 18 mark for 18ct gold and a gothic capital “I” for the date, which indicates the date inside as the birthday as they are just under 19 years apart, Maker’s mark “PM”.
Condition -
Very good antique condition, with some enamel wear
