The terms and conditions of all Returns
Returns POLICY
Of course I happily except returns. I understand that when ordering online it's important to have the chance to hold the piece in real life. If it doesn't give you the feeling you thought it would please contact me to organise a return.
I just have a few terms and conditions below. These are here to protect my small business.
Please note that layaway items, items purchased with gift cards or sale or discounted items can only be exchanged for another item or held as shop credit to use at a later date.
The terms and conditions which apply to all returns to the Jewellery Box d'un Petit Cœur are outlined below.
Contact
If you would like to return your item, please contact me directly first so we can arrange the details and so I can expect to receive the item in the post.
Time Frame
Returns must be sent within 14 days of delivery. Day 1 is the day the parcel is delivered to your address. Please keep your proof of postage as this will confirm the return send date was within this window.
Delivery Costs
The total shipping cost you paid is always non-refundable, in all cases. This applies whether the item is returned, exchanged, or if you cancel the order. Refunds will cover the cost of the item only, minus any original shipping charges. This includes shipping options with any prepaid duties, the full amount remains non refundable.
Return Postage
All returns must be sent using a tracked and signed-for service, and I’ll require the tracking number and proof of postage. The return shipping costs are your responsibility as the buyer. I recommend using an insured service, as I cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit. Refunds will only be issued once the item has safely arrived and been checked. Please note that any original delivery charges you paid are not refundable.
Packaging
Please return the item with its original internal packaging, and use sturdy outer packaging to keep it safe in the post. You may reuse the original outer packaging if it is still in good condition. If items are damaged in return transit, repair costs may be deducted from the refund.
Lost Items
If a return does not arrive back with me, I cannot issue a refund. You may be able to claim the value back from your postal provider if you used an insured service.
Damaged Items
Any damage that was not described in the original listing must be discussed before the return is arranged. Any damage that occurs during the return transit may result in repair costs being deducted from your refund, so please ensure your item is packaged carefully and securely.
Layaway Items
Layaway items can be returned, but they may only be exchanged for another item or held as shop credit equal to the amount you have paid. Shop credit must be used within 6 months from the issue date of the original voucher. You can contact me to arrange to split your voucher if you see a piece for less than your original item. Any remaining credit must also be used within the original 6-month period. Postage costs for both the original and exchange delivery are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Sale or Discounted Items
Items purchased in a sale or with a discount code may only be exchanged for another item or held as shop credit. The same shop credit conditions apply as with the layaway items. Please see above.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are fully refundable within 14 days of purchase. After this time they are non-refundable. Items purchased with a gift card may be exchanged for another item or another gift card.
Alterations
Once an item has been altered by a third party, it can no longer be returned or exchanged, even if this is within the 14-day return period. I always recommend choosing an experienced jeweller familiar with antique and vintage pieces.
Peace of Mind
All pieces are second-hand, vintage, or antique, and may show natural signs of age. In the rare case that your item arrives damaged in transit, or you discover an unexpected issue within 14 days of delivery, please contact me straight away and I will do everything I can to make it right. This does not cover damage caused by general wear after receipt.
Customs Charges
For international returns, please clearly mark the parcel as a return to help avoid customs fees. If I am charged duties on a returned item, the amount will be deducted from your refund. Please check your country’s customs procedures before returning an item. Any prepaid duties, included as part of the original shipping costs for your order are non-refundable.
