RETURNS POLICY

The terms and conditions of all Returns

Of course I happily except returns. I understand that when ordering online it's important to have the chance to hold the piece in real life. If it doesn't give you the feeling you thought it would please contact me to organise a return.

I just have a few terms and conditions below. These are here to protect my small business.

Please note that layaway items, items purchased with gift cards, sale or discounted items can only be exchanged for another item or held as shop credit to use at a later date.

The terms and conditions which apply to all returns to the Jewellery Box d'un Petit Cœur are outlined below.

Contact

Contact me directly first so we can arrange the return and so I know to expect the item in the post.

Time Frame

It is important to me that all returns are sent back to me as soon as possible. From the date of delivery to you, I require for the sent date of the return delivery to be within 14 days, with a proof of postage.

Postage

It must be sent back to me using a fully insured and tracked delivery method and I will require the tracking number. I do not cover the cost of postage for the return and the postage cost indicated on the postal receipt of the original delivery will be deducted from the refund amount.  If your item is held at a collection point after a failed delivery and you do not go to collect your item it will be sent back to myself. You will then need to pay for delivery (at cost price) to have your item sent back. If you decide you do not want it to be sent out again then a small fee will be charged to cover my expenses as well as a deduction to your refund of the postage costs plus exterior packaging. Please note that the actual cost of postage might be more than what you paid.

Packaging

It must be packaged safely and securely. I will not cover the costs of damaged items, if a repair is needed, the cost will be deducted from your refund amount.  I would suggest that as a safe option, a box similar as to what your item was sent out in. Please don't reuse it if it is not in a suitable condition. I ask that the interior packaging received with your item is returned with the piece or €10 will be deducted from the return.

Lost Items

If the item is not received by myself, I will not issue the refund. This is why I ask that an insured postage method is always used for all returns. You can make a claim for the value of the item if lost in the post.

Layaway Items

You may return layaway items, however, they can only be exchanged, for the sum of what you have paid, for another item or held as shop credit, to be used within 6 months. Please note, for shop credit the minimum spend, to redeem the voucher, will be the same value as your original layaway item.  The postage costs for the original delivery will be deducted from the exchange value or the store credit. The postage costs for the exchange item will have to be covered by the purchaser.

Sale or Discounted Items

Please note that if you have purchased your item in a sale or using a discount code then this item can be only be exchanged for another item or held as shop credit for another occasion.

Gift Cards

Gift Card purchases are fully refundable within 30 days of purchase. After this time they are not able to be refunded. Items purchased with a gift card can only be exchanged for another gift voucher or another item.

Alterations

If you have arranged any alterations to your piece, via a third party, these items are no longer eligible for a refund or for an exchange from the moment any alteration has been made. This is the case even if the alteration is made with the 14 day return period. Please always opt for an experienced jeweller who has worked with old pieces of jewellery. The Jewellery Box d'un Petit Cœur is not responsible to any related costs of third party alterations.

Damage

I do not accept returns for items that have been damaged after they have been received.

All of their current wear or damage will be described in the listing and photographed in the images.

If there is new damage to your item, which is not through any fault of your own, within the first 14 days of having been received I will do everything I can to rectify the situation for you. After 14 days, the Jewellery Box d'un Petit Cœur does not accept any responsibility for damaged items.

All the pieces in the collection are second hand, vintage or antique items and will require care and upkeep.

I want your jewels to sustain their condition and stay looking as wonderful as they do for as long as possible; for this reason I have written a page with my absolute best care advice. It describes how I care for my jewellery and what I've learnt from my experience collecting antique jewels. I am able to provide one to one assistance for item care, so please don't hesitate to send a message.

Customs Charges

To avoid a customs charge on a returned item, please indicate clearly that it is a return. If I receive a charge, I will deduct it from the refund total.  Please note, it is your responsibility to inform yourself of your country's customs procedure.
