What is it?
A sweet antique French pendant with a round hoop which frames the holly branch design or "branche de houx". The berry details are suitably set with vibrant red pastes in a millegrain edged setting and the piece had been crafted from 18ct gold

    This piece has a French eagle head mark for 18ct gold as well as a French maker's mark, likely for Robert Grandjean with R G initials and a balance scale at the centre

    Measurements - 

    26.6mm - full drop, 18.4mm - circumference

    Weight - 1.13g

    Condition -

    Very good antique condition with some indications of use, such as two minor dents to the outter edge of the hoop. One red paste is set at a slight angle; both are secure

What a joy to be in Paris and find the perfect gift for a 40th wedding anniversary. I had my heart set on an opal solitaire, preferably vintage design, and found exactly that. The ring even fit, no sizing needed. Rebecca is a pleasure to work with, and I enjoyed the chance to meet her. I found the ring browsing online and would have ordered it from home (the USA) had we not been within a couple of miles of each other in Paris.
